My name is Sarah Leppard, I’m a Therapeutic Counsellor.
My specialist areas of interest include working with childhood anxiety, anger, self-esteem, ADHD, ASD, learning difficulties, trauma and young carers. Also, adults in recovery from addiction or abuse, adult carers, common mental health problems, relationship problems, depression, making sense of divorce/separation, self-harm, stress, fibromyalgia, and much more.
Through the counselling relationship I will work in a way which suits my clients’ needs. I love working creatively with children and adults alike, to enable them to connect to their emotions, building confidence, self-worth and resilience. My approach is humanistic integrative, I follow Roger’s principle that you know best and will know how to move forward, therefore my role as a counsellor is to enable you to find resources within yourself to make the move.
My Clinical Areas of experience and expertise are working with Adults, Young People and Children.
I have recent experience of working for The Listening Ear in schools as a CYP Counsellor and with unpaid adult carers through Harlequin Care, both charities. I have 14 years prior experience of working with children in mainstream schools as an ELSA, Teaching Assistant, Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Care worker which has provided me with an insight into the difficulties that children and young people face daily.
