I'm Donna Matthews, a Humanistic Counsellor with over 20 years experience. I work with private clients, as well as for corporate companies and institutions.
I understand first hand that we all have times in our lives when we experience seemingly overwhelming difficulties like anxiety or struggling in a relationship and don't understand why. At times like this it can be beneficial to enlist the help of a trained professional, who will listen and try to understand without judgement.
My specialists areas are depression, addictions, parents of neurodiverse children, family issues and low self esteem.
Through the counselling relationship I will assist you with gaining clarity and understanding of current and past issues. Once identified, you are able to implement better coping mechanisms, improved thinking strategies and positive behavioural changes. Feelings are explored with the intention of assisting increased emotional wellbeing.
My Clinical Areas of experience and expertise are working with Individuals, Groups, Couples & Families.
Over the years I have built up a strong rapport with local companies and institutions such as EAP, Tops Nurseries, Hadland Care Group, Aspire Training and have worked for 5 years as an addiction counsellor at Quinton House Project. In addition to this I have also undertaken various voluntary counselling positions including at a Woman's Refuge, Ted Webster's Family Centre, The Arts Institute, Bournemouth.
