Rewellness Children and Young person Counsellor

About

Hi, I’m Donna Morgan, I believe everyone should feel valued and that there awaits hidden beauty to be discovered in each one of us. Over the years, I have gained a wide range of life and work experience across many different fields, which now stands me in good stead in the counselling room.

My background as a foster carer gave me first-hand experience of supporting children and teenagers facing emotional and mental health challenges, including attachment difficulties. Through this journey, I completed additional training, including the Foundation Course in PACE Training (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) within Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) led by Dr Vicky Sutton. This deepened my understanding of trauma, attachment, and how to provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people can begin to heal.

I specialise in working with teenagers and young adults, helping them navigate the often complex and overwhelming challenges of adolescence and early adulthood. These may include struggles with identity, self-esteem, relationships, stress, anxiety, or the impact of past trauma. Alongside this, I have developed a particular specialism in working with adults and children affected by domestic violence, supporting recovery, resilience, and emotional safety in the aftermath of abuse.

As a Certified IARTT Rewind Trauma Therapist & EFT Practioner, I am able to support young people and adults in processing trauma safely and effectively, reducing the emotional impact of painful memories without the need for detailed disclosure.

At ReWellness, I am passionate about empowering young people to discover their own abilities, strengths, and resources, supporting them to become the best version of themselves. Having raised four children of my own through their teenage years, and now enjoying life as a Nana to four grandchildren, I understand both the challenges and joys of family life.

Clinical Background

I also worked on the Turnaround Project with Relate to support women and children in/or affected by domestic violence and did work in both primary and secondary schools, supporting these young people, as well as seeing young people referred from CAHMS. I have some experience working around addictions and was counselling in a drug and alcohol dry house.

My passion is enabling others to discover their abilities, strengths and resources, empowering them to live the life they truly want and become the best version of themselves. I enjoy working with anyone of any age but have a particular heart for teenagers and helping them navigate such a difficult time in their lives. There was no better training ground than watching my own 4 children rollercoaster through their teen years.

I’m proud to say I’m now a Nana to 4 young Grandchildren and in my spare time I’m very interested in health and wellness. If I’m not in the kitchen trying a new plant-based recipe or juice, I’ll be researching the latest findings on healing the body naturally.
