About
Hello, I’m Erica. I am an Individual and Relationship Therapist and Clinical Sexologist in training.
I qualified as a systemic counsellor with Relate but since then, I have added many strings to my bow. I will shortly qualify in psychosexual therapy and compulsive (out of control) sexual behaviour.
I work with people in relationships of all configurations from couples to multipartnered relationships. I specialise in working with people who are:
- neurodiverse
- People of Colour
- from the GSDR Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity) therapy community, especially trans people.
- who are adopted.
My practice is pluralistic, gentle and compassionate, trauma informed, sex positive and creative: working in the way that best suits you.
As well as being a practising therapist I am a supervisor and tutor. Later in the year, I will have the privilege of tutoring trainee counsellors, which is my way of giving back. I am very much looking forward to meeting you.

Theoretical Background
Systemic, Pluralistic and Creative because one size doesn’t fit all. When working with psychosexual problems, intimacy and compulsive sexual behaviour, I use CBT, Psychoeducation and Compassion Focussed Therapy to help you resolve the emotions that have caused the problems in their relationships and lives in. My work in this area takes a BioPsychoSocial stance from a starting point of sexual health and wellbeing.
I work with longer contracts for deep problems; I also offer Brief Solution Focussed Therapy if all you need is a couple of sessions to clarify a way forward.

- I am investigating the possibility of offering F2F work in Wiltshire, please let me know if you would be interested in this service.
Clinical Background
I trained initially as a relationship and individual counsellor, but I soon realised that I need to have a thorough grasp of the factors that make relationships tick and what happens when they become stuck and/or get into trouble. I trained in bereavement during the pandemic, when I also completed courses in CBT and Mindful Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to help clients suffering from anxiety and depression. In 2021, I was encouraged to become a supervisor. It is such an honour to work with practitioners at various stages of their careers. I started training as a Psychosexual Therapist/Clinical Sexologist in 2024. Having completed over 300 hours of clinical practice in this area, I am in the final months of training
How I Work
From attachment focused perspective and at relational depth to understand your meaning and that of your partner, family, friends and others in your life. Quite often, communication/miscommunication arises from a lack of clarity and fundamental misunderstanding. I help you understand how you have been influenced by your narratives and those of the people around you. Having a better understanding of each other’s stories helps us connect on a deeper level. We will work together to help you be heard and to help others hear more clearly. Deeper understanding often brings with it greater trust. Things may seem dull and gloomy at the moment. You may feel that the path ahead is blocked, so let’s work together to part the clouds, clear the way and bring sunshine, joy and clearer focus back into your life.
