JADE

About
Hi, I’m Jade, I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with additional training in
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I primarily work with adults,
supporting individuals with issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma, suicidal
ideation, self-harm, and addiction. I also have experience supporting
clients exploring sexual and gender identity, those who have experienced sexual abuse, and individuals facing health related challenges. My approach focuses on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and understood. Together, we explore feelings, build resilience, and develop strategies for emotional wellbeing. I integrate CBT techniques alongside a person-centred approach when helpful, particularly for addressing patterns of
thinking, anxiety, or low mood. I believe clients are the experts of their own experiences, and that with a strong therapeutic relationship, they can overcome challenges and realise their potential. My own life experiences have shaped my understanding that life can be challenging, and that at times we all need support. I bring this awareness into my practice with empathy, respect, and sensitivity, aiming to support personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional wellbeing within a professional and ethical therapeutic relationship.

Clinical Background
I have experience working within a residential rehabilitation centre, supporting individuals recovering from substance use. I have also provided foster care for vulnerable children and delivered in-home support to older adults. Across these roles, I supported people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, gaining firsthand insight into trauma, loss, resilience, and the profound importance of feeling truly seen and heard.
I have worked with individuals rebuilding their lives after addiction, as well as older adults striving to maintain independence and dignity within their own homes. These experiences strengthened my ability to listen deeply, support emotional regulation, and offer grounded, compassionate, person-centred care.
My personal journey through fertility treatment and motherhood has further shaped my practice, deepening my empathy, emotional resilience, and appreciation for the importance of emotional and mental wellbeing.
