Katie

Trainee Counsellor Poole

About

Hello, I’m Katie Martin, I’ve been part of the ReWellness team since 2024, supporting both adults and young people. I am a qualified therapist for adults, and over the past year I have completed additional training and clinical hours to also work with children and young people. I continue to work under professional supervision to ensure I offer the very best support.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, understanding space where people feel heard and supported. Together, we explore feelings, build resilience, and develop practical strategies for emotional wellbeing. I believe that anything and everything a person brings is valid, and my goal is always to support positive change in each individual’s life.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults and young people through a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, parents separating, ADHD & Autism, school problems, bullying, low self esteem, grief, coping with health conditions and treatment, depression, and the impact of upsetting or traumatic life experiences. My approach is always collaborative, helping each person grow in confidence and find their own unique way forward.

Clinical Background

Before training as a counsellor, I worked for many years as a holistic therapist, specialising in massage, aromatherapy, and wellbeing. This background has shaped the way I work today, giving me a deep appreciation for the mind–body connection and the importance of looking after overall wellbeing.

This blend of professional counselling training and holistic practice allows me to bring a calm, compassionate, and supportive presence to the counselling room.
