About

Hi, I’m Harri Chandler, a qualified Art Psychotherapist with experience supporting children, young people and adults.
I specialise in working with neurodivergent clients, including people with ADHD and autism. I understand that everyone experiences and communicates their thoughts and feelings differently, so I adapt therapy to suit each individual rather than expecting them to fit into one particular way of working.

Sometimes it can be difficult to explain how we feel using words alone. Art psychotherapy provides another way to express and explore thoughts, feelings and experiences through art-making, creativity and conversation. There is no pressure to talk or create anything in a particular way, and no artistic ability or previous experience is needed.

I also support people experiencing low mood, trauma, difficulties with relationships or attachment, social isolation, and challenges around identity or sense of self. I have experience supporting individuals recovering from domestic or sexual abuse and offer a safe, accepting space for transgender and LGBTQ+ clients.
My approach is warm, gentle and non-judgemental. Building a trusting relationship is at the heart of my work, and I will support you to explore what is happening at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable for you.
Therapy with me is available online or in person.

Theoretical Background

I offer an integrative and holistic approach to art psychotherapy, drawing upon person-centred, psychodynamic and Jungian principles. My work is also informed by trauma, attachment and relational approaches.

This means I consider each client as a whole person, taking account of their experiences, relationships, environment and individual way of understanding the world. I use both the creative process and conversation to help clients explore their feelings, recognise patterns and develop a greater understanding of themselves.

Clinical Background

I have experience working therapeutically with both adults and children across a range of settings, supporting a variety of emotional and psychological needs. Providing both group and one-to-one art therapy in SEN and alternative school settings, working with neurodivergent children and young people, as well as facilitating parent-child therapeutic work. This developed my ability to engage creatively, build trust, and adapt interventions to a wide range of developmental and emotional needs.

I am also a highly experienced addiction counsellor with over eight years’ clinical practice within a residential addiction treatment setting, in one of the UK’s leading specialist providers. Extensive experience working within the Minnesota Model, delivering abstinence-based, 12-step informed treatment. Specialist knowledge in; complex trauma, dissociation and attachment.

My work integrates creative practice with clinical understanding, alongside mindfulness and somatic approaches to support regulation and emotional processing.
