Sophie Smith

Therapeutic counsellor

About

My name is Sophie Smith and I am a therapeutic counsellor and registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I work with clients who are open-minded and willing to engage in the counselling process. I support people with a wide range of issues and tailor my approach to each individual’s needs. Some clients come to counselling with clear goals they would like to achieve, while others use the space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and what they want from therapy.

My practice is centered around you and what you need from the therapeutic process. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard, supported, and understood. Using a range of therapeutic skills, frameworks, and tools, I help clients explore their emotions, experiences, and challenges in a way that feels right for them. Every client is unique, and I believe therapy should reflect that individuality.

I have experience supporting clients with a variety of issues, including addiction, sexual abuse, stress, depression, anxiety, relationships, LGBTQIA+ matters, and work with children and young people. Building trust is an important part of the way I work. My aim is to help you feel secure, comfortable, and at ease within the counselling relationship.

Therapy offers you the opportunity to explore yourself, develop self-awareness, and grow at your own pace, with support throughout your journey.

If you struggle with feeling heard or feel unable to share openly with those around you, counselling may provide the support and space you need.

I currently offer both online and face-to-face sessions.
